This page has scope to grow, with contributions from members. Below are only a couple of examples.
The method of image delivery is designed for minimum load time, to recognise the range of internet speeds of users, particularly rural ones. Therefore only the small thumbnail images are loaded when the each individual photo gallery is opened, and the larger images loaded only on request. For a gallery of 10 images, this has the result that the initial loading of the initial page is 6 times faster than it otherwise would be.
The two examples of photo galleries below use different methods for viewing the images. Feedback on which is better, or what the pros and cons of each are, is welcome in order to design the most suitable method for future gallleries.
